Overview

Reza is a robust, personable, and hard-working advocate with a keen eye for detail. He is adept at making clients feel comfortable by being approachable and friendly. He is fiercely committed to defending the rights of clients through meticulous preparation, and in Court, he is a tenacious and enthusiastic advocate.


Reza undertakes work in all areas of Chambers practice. He has a well rounded ability to represent all types of clients from the vulnerable to the more robust. He has experience of trial work including small claims, fast track, and multi-track in the County Court; trial work in the High Court; appellate work; as well as applications and injunctive relief. He regularly appears at all levels of the Court and Tribunal hierarchy at all locations in England and Wales.

Alternative Dispute Resolution and International work

In addition to his litigation work, Reza undertakes mediation and arbitration work in both civil and commercial disputes. His non-judgmental and facilitative approach, as well as his nimble and agile mind quickly puts parties at ease, ready to iron out their differences and come to a settlement.

  • Advising a major pharmaceutical firm (based in Bangladesh) in its purchase of land and three pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria
  • Acting as counsel in arbitration of a Nigerian shipping company against a Chinese firm for repudiatory breach of contract under LCIA rules.
  • Advising and assisting a large retail company based in the UK in setting up a commercial bank in Bangladesh;
  • Advising owner/partner of oil and pharmaceutical companies in Bangladesh and UK in its acquisition of stakes in oil companies in Kuwait and Nigeria;
  • Advising a leading cancer surgeon in the creation of a cancer hospital and university in Bangladesh (worth over $100m) – particular emphasis on commercial loan structure, land, and building development;
  • Acting as mediator in a breach of contract of storage of antique belonging to a fashion design house and a storage house proprietor worth £10m;
  • Advising a banking association of Bangladesh in relation to licensing disputes over its members with regulatory authority;
  • Acting as counsel in Arbitration of a merchant bank in its sanction of $30m worth of loan capital to a start-up domestic airliner in Bangladesh;
  • Pre-action advisory work and dispute avoidance (in particular, retail in UAE).
  • Advisory work on inclusion of English law contract in full or various terms in civil law jurisdiction (Turkey).
  • Advising a capital venture firm based in Bangladesh in its expansion of fluid-less battery being rolled out in the UK and the European markets.
